One of the highlights of the 2004/05 season was the initiation of the community cricket match between Deans Marsh & Wye River. This game encouraged those in the Deans Marsh community who were not involved with the club to enjoy a pleasant Sunday afternoon game of cricket. The response was fantastic with a great game played in wonderful spirit. The success of the club in attracting new members this season was spawned on that sunny afternoon. The 'Swamp Rats' were born.
