The Deans Marsh Cricket Club joined forces with the Lorne Football & Netball Club to 'Clean Up Australia'.

The two Clubs completed a clean sweep of the 24 kilometer Deans Marsh - Lorne Road today. A committed group of approximately 20 cricketers and footballers set off in varyed states of mind and body at 9.00 am and collected almost a tonne of litter. Golf clubs, motorcycle helmets and computer monitors were picked up in the sweep.

 
The Club thanks Brett Smartt (Clean Up Australia Co Ordinator) for orgainising the event that left a warm and fuzzy feeling with everyone that participated.

 
Thanks also to 'Turtle' Allen for preparing the lamb spit and gravy at the Deans Marsh Cricket Clubrooms after the event.

 
It has been decided that the day will become an annual event with a social cricket match to follow.
